FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A. Usually, in the majority of situations, no.
Planning permission is not normally required due to the nature of our product – i.e. “portable sectional building” – providing that the structure is within certain size limits which in turn are governed by the size and other aspects of your property. The usual criteria to meet to avoid planning permission are…

The proposed conservatory is not in front of the building line.
The proposed conservatory is under 30 sq. metres and under 70 cubic metres.
Your property is not in a Conservation area or a listed building.
We can give guidance, but we suggest that you talk to your local planning officer if in doubt.

Also recommended is the booklet: “Planning A Guide for Householders” by the Department of the Environment. It may be available in your local library.

You may need permission if you intend to use use your conservatory for commercial use (i.e. an office), or if it goes against original planning permission for the house.

Terms and Conditions of ordering
We are licensed credit brokers and can offer terms of 6 to 120 months if required

The majority of our customers prefer however the comfort of paying a mimimal deposit of 25% either by cheque, cash or a choice of the popular credit/debit cards.

The balance is due always on delivery of the building. Sometimes by special arrangement, this can be paid to our driver although in most instances a post-dated cheque is often preffered.

We reserve the right to make a charge for delivery outside of mainland England and Wales unless otherwise stated.

We will endevour to deliver within a 28 day period, although leads times will vary according to season.

Complaints – will be dealt with according to each manufacturers own guidelines in a fair and confidential manner. If replacement goods are required in order to rectify any default or defincency, this should take no longer than 10 working days.

Should for any reason you wish to cancel your order, this must be done so in writing no later than 7 days after recieving the goods. You may however be responsible for the costs of returning goods unless your reasons are validated by this office.

None the above affects your statutory consumer rights.

Will you survey the site prior to manufacture?
Yes.

On made-to-measure buildings it may be necessary for us to arrange a site visit prior to manufacture. This service is free-of-charge once your order is placed. If you take advantage of this service before ordering your building then a fully refundable charge of £ 125 + VAT will be levied which we will deduct from the cost of your conservatory when your order is placed.

I am concerned about the moral and legal enviromental issues concerning hardwood buildings
If you are a concerned environmentalist, you will find it reassuring to learn that all the hardwood used in the manufacture of the Cotswold Collection is obtained from managed forests with a re-planting programme.
We mainly use a hardwood timber called Meranti, which is obtained from countries such as Malaysia. The sustainable forest management in this country has long been the concept of its National Forest policy.
